We stayed for 2 nights in April, as we arrived the 1st thing we liked was the beautiful location very quiet with a large lawn with benches at the side. Parked the car and looked for the entrance,was a bit baffled as the door which we realised must be the way in could have had a welcome or entrance sign above it as it wasn't very inviting. The reception desk is also the bar dinning area, which as our stay unfolded we thought could be planned out a bit different ,people checking in or out as you where eating your meal,strange ,and as it's got rooms either side, could be a better set up, The 2 meals we had were both lovely, fish was beautiful, and the chicken curry perfect for my taste. The room. Was very clean. Shower came hot eventually and was a bit in and out ,hot then warm then hot again . Bathroom clean . Good size double room. Tea,coffee biscuits. The owner was very hands on and the staff all nice.Nice stop off on our jny further north.
I asked Shashank and his team to cater my 60th birthday party, at our house 3 miles from the hotel. The food was exceptional. It was great value, generous, and delicious. Shashank catered for my 100 guests without batting an eyelid and the whole delivery and set up couldn’t have been smoother. I wouldn’t hesitate for second to recommend them as outside caterers: incredible value; awesome food; and fantastic service.
Excellent service, informal dining when we booked at extremely last minute, food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely having money spent on it. Set in some nice grounds the views are excellent. Motorcycle and pet friendly. Makes a great base to tour from.
Brilliant we went to the lunch and panto afternoon and I couldn't find fault it was great. Great show, lovely food and welcoming host. Amazing event

I can highly recommend Ernespie Restaurant for a top notch Sunday roast. It rates ten out of ten from me. Plenty of meat, fluffy roasties, creamy mash, homemade Yorkshire, cheesy broccoli, carrots, beans and red cabbage all cooked to perfection, topped with plenty of tasty gravy. One of those meals you'll remember. Well, if you're like me you will! As an added bonus they're very dog-friendly too...not just dog tolerant.
